Where writers (and others) sell books -- and more ...

Instructions for Item, Title, and Webstore Setup

Use these forms to set up your items for sale, to design your webstore, and, if you wish, provide a non-alphanumeric-sort order for your items.  Because the forms are self-documenting, and contain a lot of explanation, they seem a lot longer and complicated than they really are.

It's a good idea to print out a copy of each form before you fill it out on screen, so as to allow you to plan your entries to the various questions.

The Title form is for products such as books, DVDs, prints, or anything wherein you might want to list it by an author or artist's name. The Item form is for all other products.

The Image form will allow you to upload product images, as well as photo of yourself or your business establishment, or a banner image (such as the AuthorSales.Com logo above.)

The Site Design form lets you set up various visual elements of your webstore, and also enter such items as another web address you'll like customers to link to, a welcome message, and a featured item that you wish to receive special attention. See the ColorDemo and Example stores to get the idea.

You can use the Site Design form to request that your items be sorted by various criteria -- by price, by name or title, by weight, and so on.  If you want to present your items in some specific order that would be difficult or impossible to set up with a sorting rule, the Manual Sort form also you to specify, item by item, exactly the order in which you want them presented.

Once you've completed each form, you'll be shown a page where you can double-check your entries. If you spot a problem, just use the back button on your browser to go back and change the problem entry or entries. Note that, as a security measure, you are required to re-enter your password when you do go "back" in this manner.

After everything is the way you want it, and you hit the final submit button, you'll be sent an email with all your entries. Save this email -- and, better still, print it out as well, for future reference.

We'll receive your information in our offices, and, within three business days, will update your webstore with the new information. We'll query you if we have any questions.
